Embedding Video in HTML

Below are some examples for embedding WMP video into your web page. Download the .zip file for page examples and view the source code of this page for help. Further instructions are at the bottom of this page.

Option 1: Pop-up example (click on link):

Sample File

56k (1.3mb)

Note: Windows Media Player must be installed on your computer to view this video. Click here to download.

*note: low quality video for dial up users should be kept under 2mb on final render of your video editing software. For Broadband users, high quality video of a 20mb .wmv on final render gives 5 to 7 minutes of actual playback time depending on the compression quality settings of your video editing software.

Option 2: Coded to pop up and auto play

Sample File

56k (1.3mb)

Option 3: Embedded in HTML with controls (low quality)

The downloadable .zip file contains:

video.htm (edit with your own information)
sampleonelow.htm (the pop-up page w/video file with WMP controls)
sampleonelq.asx (streaming metafile - edit to point to your own server files)
video folder (contains sampleone.wmv)

Instructions:

Download and unzip into a separate folder. Edit the files with your own movie and server information. Upload to your server. (be sure to also upload your own .wmv video file)
