Motion Guides Step 1: Open Flash and size the work area from Modify | Movie choosing 300 x 250 for this example. Choose any color for the background. Step 2: On frame 1, create an object or import a graphic and then convert it to a symbol.
Step 3: Insert a keyframe around 40, then add a motion guide layer by selecting it as shown in the diagram.
Step 4: Select the pencil tool and draw a path on the work area of the motion guide layer. Click on frame 1 of the object layer. Select 'arrow' from the toolbar and select the image object, moving it toward the top of the path you just drew until it 'snaps to' the beginning of the path. Click on frame 40 of the layer, then select the object again on the work area, then drag it to the end of the path until it 'snaps to' the other end. Double click on frame 1 of the object layer, select the Tweening tab, select 'motion' , check 'tween scaling' 'synchronize symbols' and 'snap to guide' and then 'ok'. Use 'Modify | Transform | Scale' on the last image frame to change the size.
Step 5: On the motion guide layer you can hide the path layer by clicking the 'dot' under the 'eye' symbol. Rewind and play your movie. It should look like the one here. You can download our .fla if you like and play around with the settings until you get the look you want. Have fun!
