Exploding Text
 

Step 1: Open Flash and size the work area from Modify | Movie choosing 300 x 250 for this example. Choose any contrasting color for the background. Select frame 1 and create the first letter of your word. Convert it to a symbol, cut and paste frame 1 onto frame 15.

Step 3: Click anywhere between the two frames and create a motion tween with CW rotation. Click on frame 15, select the letter and drag it outside of the stage area. Rotate and scale the letter.

Step 4: Add a new layer and repeat all steps for each letter you want to add. Use 'Window | Panels | Align' to bring up the panel. Select all, then line the text up. Your movie should look like the one here. You can select the last frame of the top layer and put a stop action on it to keep it from looping.
